1 simple success habit to grow yourself and your business – smile!
Maintaining a habit isn’t easy- or at least a success habit. The requirement of a daily commitment to change your attitudes and behaviours has probably depleted a lot of your willpower in the process. How many times have you, or someone you know commit to changing their diet and have reversed back to their original habits in a matter of days or weeks?
Even though bad habits are easier to maintain, they are not impossible to permanently change. However, what if I told you there was a success habit you can acquire now which takes minimum effort and energy?
Smiling. You can do it right now. In the comforts of your own home, walking in the street or as part of your morning routine. Is it difficult? No. You see miserable people on the street and think to yourself, ‘they could do with a smile!’
Not only smiling makes you more attractive, but it also encourages longevity and does amazing things for your health, such as improving your immune system and increasing endurance. This is an important success habit you should create for yourself, smiling even if you don’t feel like it.
According to a study mentioned in this TED talk, one smile can generate the same level of brain stimulation as up to 2,000 bars of chocolate. And another bonus, I can guarantee for you that smiling is much healthier than eating 2,000 bars of chocolate!
This success habit is one part of telling your face what it wants and needs
Happiness is what comes after smiling- if you rate yourself on a scale of 1-10 for how happy you are right now, what is it? If you scored 10, great, you are the happiest version of yourself right now. If you scored 9 or below, there is something you can do to sustain a happy mood and existence.
According to Tony Robbins, a motivational speaker and life coach, he suggested using the 90 second rule to maintain happiness and remove any negative thoughts. Whenever you start to think in a way which doesn’t benefit you, give yourself 90 seconds to return to a beautiful state.
For example, if you find yourself in conflict with a colleague, shift your thoughts to the positive side, thinking of all the good things this colleague has done for you, and how much you appreciate them. While you probably won’t master this process overnight, it will become easier the more you do it, so let’s try this success habit in a next situation you encounter.
Meditation is your second happiness strategy. You may have heard countless times that meditation helps to relieve stress, increase patience and self-esteem. To make the process simpler, this two-minute gratitude meditation can be found on www.unshakeable.com so you can listen to the audio with your eyes closed.
So why not wake up with a smile and try out gratification meditation to help the universe give you what you really want? If you smile more often, positivity and energy will be returned. So, wait no more and smile as many times as you can!
